Robertlandy Simón Aties was born on June 11, 1987, in Guantánamo, Cuba. At 2.08 m tall and weighing 114 kg, Simón is a physical powerhouse. His spike reach of around 389 cm and block reach near 362 cm give him unmatched dominance at the net, making every block and spike a potential game-changer.

Simón’s international journey began at just 17 years old, and he served as captain of the Cuban national team between 2009 and 2010. He claimed a NORCECA championship in 2009, along with silver medals at the World Grand Champions Cup and World Championships that same year. His performance in 2010 earned him the coveted Best Blocker title. After a hiatus, he returned to national play in 2019, adding veteran presence to NORCECA events.
His club career is equally impressive. In Italy, he won the 2013 Challenge Cup with Copra Piacenza and earned top honors in the 2018–2019 CEV Champions League and Club World Championships with Cucine Lube Civitanova. Simón currently shines in Italy’s SuperLega with Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza (2024–25 season).
